Peer Review of ePortfolio
This ‘Peer Review’ of my ePortfolio is meant to provide constructive feedback on the overall structure and effectiveness of my website. It also serves as an important ‘double-checking’ process so that the peer who is assigned to me can let me know if I followed the requirements on the rubric and if I have included all of the assignments I need, which were completed throughout the Summer I semester session of Integrating Technology into the Curriculum. Completing this “Peer Review” for another classmate also served as an activity that forced me to pay close attention to the requirements which allowed me to ‘self-assess’ my own ePortfolio. Performing “Peer Reviews” gave me an opportunity to take on the role of a teacher who would use a rubric to establish student expectations. The use of rubrics is an excellent way to clearly state the attributes of the components of an assignment and their value. In the end, there is clear communication between the teacher and the student and the teacher is able to use the rubric to evaluate the student’s performance and assess student success. This is a tool that I will most certainly incorporate when I am an Art/History teacher.
As a quick note, the person assigned to review my ePortfolio was not able to do so, which is why I have provided the peer review I completed while reviewing Christian Ward's ePortfolio.
