This page provides a link to my Blog where I have posted two assignments and fellow classmates have commented. The first post is an embedded Prezi presentation where I provide information regarding the different aspects about how fair use laws assist in dealing with copyright that can cause possible issues in the classroom, including what is being done about said issues and how one can avoid those issues. The second post is a short paper where I define what learning strategies are and how they can improve a student’s comprehension and understanding. This paper is accompanied by a table where I have listed different teaching strategies that I plan to use as a future educator.
Unit 2: Working with Prezi
This assignment exposed me to the world of Prezi and the ability to embed presentations onto a blog. With my newfound experience, I now have the knowledge that I can incorporate into my future lessons. The assignment itself had me research and define what fair use is and what role it plays in an academic setting within the classroom. This assignment has made me aware of the different aspects of copyright and how to avoid plagiarizing, which I plan to share with my future students.
Unit 3: Five Instructional Strategies with Table & Introduction
This assignment has aided in my understanding of the differences between learning and teaching strategies. I also now have a list of different teaching strategies that I can incorporate into my lesson plans that will help my students stay engaged and provide them with learning tools that they can use throughout their lives. Helping students discover learning strategies that work best for them will reduce stress and apprehension, thus foster a positive learning environment and experiences that will motivate and lead to the development of lifelong learners.
